Simply put, we love great design. From sleek traditional furniture with a contemporary twist to handcrafted jewelry with a distinct point of view, we want to share the products we admire most with you. Originally from New Orleans, we've fallen in love with Homewood's charm and character, and are excited that we get to be a part of the community. We hope we can bring something new—and maybe unexpected—to the mix.

More than anything, we believe that rooms should showcase your personality, and there's no better way to do that than to accessorize. At ob-la-di, you'll find furniture pieces that double as works of art, pillows that make a bold style statement, and tabletop items that are conversation starters in and of themselves.

So why ob-la-di? As avid music fans, we wanted to pay tribute to one of our favorite bands: The Beatles. After mulling over our options (Lovely Rita's? The Yellow Submarine?), something about ob-la-di just fit. The song has a great story about Desmond and Molly—a shopkeeper and a singer—who build a "home, sweet home."  The refrain, "ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on" seemed a good mantra as we embark upon this rather hefty endeavor. Just as the Fab Four changed the face of rock 'n roll, we like to think ob-la-di is going to change how Birmingham-ians see style.

In our own house, we have an eclectic mix—from a vintage fridge-turned-china-cabinet to funky Dwell bedding (which we now sell!). We hope you'll find something here that has your name written all over it, so you can build a home, sweet home of your own.
